This Christmas was celebrated twice in our family this year. Once in Virginia on December 18th and again on the real Christmas day in Silver City, New Mexico at Juan's brother Richard's and his wife Amanda's home.
Fun was had by everyone and the big surprise was a photo given to Juan's Mom from Richard and Amanda for Christmas that Cristina could not figure out. She showed everyone and finally, Richard said "It's an ultrasound". Juan's mom said "an ultrasound? ...of what?" (I don't think Cristina had actually seen an ultrasound of a fetus before). It was a great surprise and what good news to bring in the new year.
The boys were spoiled rotten and ate way too much sugar. We're just now beginning to reign in control of Diego again. All the change, excitement and bad eating seemed to affect him (and I think Mom and Dad were getting a little lax too).
Juan is still on break from school, though he went on a business trip this week to D.C. He said the city is starting to seem surreal as it gets ready for Obama's inauguration. Traffic is already terrible, Juan's adviser lives on Capital Hill and says he will not be leaving his home on inauguration day, even for a walk. I guess its something you have to experience to see how crazy it gets. Juan still is busy with his research during what is left of break and he is gearing up for next semester.
I'm busy of course and trying to lose a few holiday pounds. They come on quick and leave ever so much slower as time goes on (I suppose I should be doing the happy dance if that is my main worry).
We are still doing well and hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and a Happy New Year!

Haven't watched the vids yet but great to hear from you again. You shouldn't miss Idaho too much. I think I'm getting some kind of post partum seasonal affective travel bug. I always want to get out of here around now but with heavy winter weather it is worse. I guess the snow tunnel was a nice lemonade out of lemons though!
